St. Patrick’s Day Party!

April 5th, 2012

Barb and Ray held their annual St. Patrick’s Day Party again with The Winglets providing almost 3 hours of dance music.  The main dinner course was Alaskan caught Halibut!  The guests wiped all of it out!  Then with dinner over we cranked up the dance tunes and the patio was filled with lots of dancing crazies!

Thanks Barb and Ray for the opportunity the have the Winglets perform for you and your guests!  Thank you also for the great comments which can be found on our “Feedback and Kudo’s” page.

LEAF VERDE RV RESORT FOR THE 3RD YEAR!!

January 7th, 2012

Last night was our season opening performance for the Leaf Verde RV resort in Buckeye, Az..  There are many many new RV’ers at the park this year and we performed from several genre’s for this gig!  Dianne and I played 50′s, 60′s, and 70′s pop, easy rock, country, standards, and some folk tunes.  All this to give our audience a taste of our music.  We performed over 40 songs in a 2 hour period.  The evening went great with about 35 folks attending.

Next up is the Sunday 1 hour performance in the Andeelena courtyard on January 15th.  There we plan to play mostly 50′s, and 60′s tunes.  Hopefully the weather will be great as this is an outdoor gig.

A Crazy 3 Days in Challis, Idaho!

August 26th, 2011

After leaving the Glenns Ferry area we headed North into the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, spending a few weeks near Stanley, ID.   Then Di and I moved over to Challis, ID. mainly to attend the Braun Brothers Reunion Music Festival.

We had reservations at the  CHALLIS VALLEY RV RESORT   where the proprietor, Frank, met us upon our arrival.  He gave us the skinny about the Braun Brothers Reunion Music Festival that was taking place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 8/11 – 8/13.  I believe there were 21 bands on the schedule.  This sleepy little mountain town of 900, hosts 4,000 visitors during the 3-day festival.  Dianne and I had acquired the 3-day tickets on line, and were looking forward to all the varied music.

Somehow, Frank found out that we were entertainers. (I wonder how that happened,  hee..hee…)  He thought it might be nice for all his resort guests to have Di and I performing our music in his pavilion, after the Braun Music party ended at 10 pm.  Frank also got a great bonfire going.  That, along with the full moon, made it two very special nights.  We performed for two hours on Thursday and Saturday night for his guests.   Let me tell you, that the party was just starting at 10 pm., and usually didn’t end at most of the campsites until 2:30 or 3 am!  All of this worked well for us since we had to tear down the equipment, then stow it away.  Then, a few glasses of wine and voila, it was 2 am and time to crash. (We put ear plugs in for insurance)

So we really do want to thank the  Challis Valley RV Resort , i.e., Frank and Nicole, for sponsoring us those 2 nights!  They have a very large campground that has even larger campsites.  I have never seen sites as large as these in an rv park before.  That’s saying something, as we have stayed in a LOT of parks during our travels over the years.  Their park also offers 360 degrees of beautiful vistas!  We have had so much fun in this part of Idaho that we just might be back here next year!

Glenns Ferry, Idaho – Golf, Vineyards, oh yea, and MUSIC!

July 23rd, 2011

The Marquee

We hooked up with a winery in Glenns Ferry called Carmela Vineyards.  It is a small resort with a 9 hole golf course, restaurant, bar, meeting rooms, 2 cabins, a small RV park, spa, and the best part is the vineyard!  They produce many wonderful flavors of wine.  Our favorite of course was a wine called Adelita Winarita!!!  It is best served over ice (we even heard that you can sneak  some Tequila in and give it a real kick) Since we stayed in the RV park across the street for awhile, we were able to partake of the spirits, then walk back to our RV.

We performed for the winery on a weekly basis.  They have a nice easterly facing patio that protected us from the heat of the setting sun.  Many of their patrons are from the local State Park just down the road.  They come over for dinner and end up dancing with us!  It was a great time, as every night we performed, our listeners just had to shake their booty so they got up and danced the night away!   On occasion a “Conga” line would break out to one of our Jimmy Buffett songs, other times they would dance in the grass adjacent to the patio!  Talk about hot summer nights; a few times the dancers would cool down by running through the practice green sprinkler! (yes these are adults we’re talking about)  Talk about fun!  We had just as much fun watching the dancers/patrons as they did dancing to our music!  We always performed for 3 to 3 1/2 hours serving up the likes of Dion, The Everly Brothers, Bobby Daren, Sinatra, and of course Buffett!

Here is their link that is best viewed with Internet Explorer.  It doesn’t work very good at all with Google.

Our LIVE Musical Entertainment Styles!

June 11th, 2011

Do you want LIVE 50′s and 60′s music for  a SOCK HOP?

We have over 2 1/2 hours of that style of music ready to go!

Do you want to have a COUNTRY dance with LIVE performers?  We have 2 1/2 hours of Country music ready to go!

Are you a PARROT HEAD and Love FUN MUSIC!  We have 16 songs that JIMMY BUFFETT does during most all of his live concerts!

OR, how about a mix of all 3 styles?  We can do!  Also if you would prefer to put the “set” together with songs that you think your guests will enjoy, let us know and we will provide you with our song list!

We have performed at PATIO PARTIES, WEDDINGS, HORSE RIDING CLUBS, BIRTHDAY PARTIES, RESTAURANTS, CHURCH DANCES, and many RV PARKS.

In fact we have just been invited to perform again (2012) during the 3 prime snowbird months at the LEAF VERDE RV RESORT for the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW!!!

KARAOKE?  Absolutely!  In addition to our live performances, we also put on Karaoke Parties!

DISC JOCKEY needed for a party?  Since we already have most of the stage equipment, it is easy for us to do either DJ or KARAOKE!   We have put on SOCK HOPS and COUNTRY DANCES where all the dancers including the LINE DANCERS had a great time!

We have been performing in the Phoenix, Arizona  area during the Winter months, for over 4 years now.  During the Summer months, we travel and have performed from Fairbanks, Alaska to Ocala, Florida. and from Michigan to Corpus Christie, Texas.

Since my wife and I are retired, we are very reliable.  Volume levels are at your discretion.  (We once performed a gig and were asked to play very, very softly.  The audience almost heard us! Just Kidding)  We have all of our own stage equipment, so we are self contained.   All we need is a 110 volt outlet!

Rocky Mountain EXTREME!!!!

June 10th, 2011

We recently performed in Moab, UT., for the RME4X4.com BBQ!  This is an annual event and is a great way of meeting and greeting the folks who support the www.rme4x4.com forum.  The food was great again this year, but the real fun started when the prizes were given away!  Over $3000 worth of rock crawling gear and clothes were supplied by the vendors!  Almost everyone won something!

There is some video of this performance on the right side of this page under “music samples” (video)!
